2022 Nissan Murano Informative car Review

Nissan Murano

Overview

The 2022 Nissan Murano, once the go-to mid-sized two row crossover, is now nothing more than a pretty shell. While its tranquil cabin and comfortable ride may appeal to those seeking refuge from life's hustle and bustle, most drivers will find it underwhelming with its lackluster driving dynamics. The only option for engines is a 3.5L V6 that still packs plenty of power though.

The only drawback is the lack of excitement due to its continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). You can find more value and practicality in other mid-size SUVs, including competitors such as the Honda Passport or Hyundai Santa Fe that have two rows.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

Equipping all Murano models is a 3.5-liter V-6 engine generating 260 horsepower for an impressive performance on the track and peppy power in your daily drives. While front-wheel drive is standard, you can opt to add all-wheel drive to any trim powered by a CVT transmission - which reacts immediately when you press down on the accelerator and unleashes an exhilarating growl from its core!

On long drives, the Murano is a tranquil companion. Its tuned suspension absorbs bumps and potholes with ease so that you can focus on your journey in comfort. Unfortunately, its steering does little to inject excitement into twisty roads; it provides good highway stability but lacks communication when navigating two-lanes - although it will still deliver you safely no matter what lies ahead! With an impressively low tow rating at 1500 pounds, the Murano's powertrain makes for a reliable partner during even longer travel plans.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

The EPA estimates the Murano will earn 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The addition of all-wheel drive also doesn't diminish either rating. In our real-world testing, the Murano fell short of its highway fuel-economy estimate—27 mpg—but still managed to post one of the best results of the rivals we sampled. Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

Nissan offers a slew of standard driver-assistance technology on all models. For more information about the Murano's crash-test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites.
